The RAKU 5015 compound is a plastic, coarse, highly fireclayed building compound from the manufacturer Sibelco from Westerwald/D, which is ideal for Raku firing due to its high resistance to temperature changes. The clay body is stoneware and does not sinter due to the high proportion of fireclay. This body is ideal for all workpiece sizes.

Black Sculptural Crank Clay
Firing Range: 1000°C-1200°C
A heavily grogged black stonware clay perfect for hand building and sculpture. Good characteristics in drying and firing resistance because of the special chamotte mixture; in particular for big items. Good for handbuilding and slab work and sculptural due to the addition of a coarse grog. From dark brown at 1150°C and becomes fully black at 1190°C.
