23cm x 32cm x 1.5cm Rectangular Kiln Shelf
Description
For kilns. The lifespan of a kiln shelf depends mainly on the distance between the top edge of the item to be fired and the underside of the kiln shelf above. Generally there should be a distance of at least 25mm.
* Please note all new batts should be separted and dried slowing over several hours. Do not exceed 110 degrees C until completely dry. Rapid heating of wet kiln furniture may result in cracking or sudden fragmentation.
CUSTOMERS REVIEW:
For any of you bakers out there, I can highly recommend these shelves for your bread or pastry. The open pore nature and make up of these shelves seems to deliver a 'thoughtful' heat to any out-of-tin artisan loaf; it just doesn't burn or scorch like a metal sheet and even takes the steam from a water bath below it. I've been using this one now for nearly 4months and cannot fault it in any way. It is developing its own patina from the odd 'crazy' mince pie eruption but seems none the worse. I will no doubt be ordering another for our lower shelf. Just heat to preferred temp. an hour before use; they stay hot for longer too ...... Every baker should have at least one of these ! Regards, Nick
