- Orange-red in vivid orange peel surface
- Tends to white edges
- Apply as a thick coat
- Very bright when Raku fired
- Stunning effects with uneven overcoating with 9607
- Works also well in combination with "siblings" 9597, 9596
- Set loosely in the kiln

"Fired at 05 gives lovely bright orange with with textured finish with white flashes, very reminiscent of 70's pottery! used with the blazing yellow, and the two together are very nice. Needs to be quite thickly applied. Also used it in a raku firing and the colour faded to bright yellow. (the coral, (red), faded to orange in the same firing)"
