Red Amaco Velvet Underglaze V382
Description
Red Velvet Underglaze is a vivd crimson at cone 05, deepens to a dark wine red at cone 5, and turns brownish as it begins to burn out at cone 10. A clear glaze accentuates the color of the underglaze nicely at cone 05 and cone 5.

AMACO Velvet underglazes if left unglazed they have the appearance of velvet. They will intensify in colour when covered with a Clear Transparent or Gloss glaze.
The Velvets are very rich colours and can be used for an all over coverage. They fire true to colour when applied from the jar and may be intermixed to create a palette of hundreds of colours.
The colours may be brushed on greenware which is to be bisque fired before applying a covering glaze or on bisqueware, then a covering glaze applied. For opaque coverage by brushing, the consistency of the colour in the jar is correct.
Velvets have a wide firing range 1040°C - 1220°C, they are also Lead Free.
