Rose Amaco Velvet Underglaze V318
Description
Rose Velvet Underglaze is a deep magenta that is dark at cone 05 and becomes patchy at cone 5 before it burns out almost completely at cone 10. A clear glaze over Rose will accentuate the color at cone 05 but at cone 5 and 10, there is no color change between glazed and unglazed.
Safety Warning
Tableware producers must test all finished ware to establish dinnerware status, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.
AMACO Velvet underglazes if left unglazed they have the appearance of velvet. They will intensify in colour when covered with a Clear Transparent or Gloss glaze.
The Velvets are very rich colours and can be used for an all over coverage. They fire true to colour when applied from the jar and may be intermixed to create a palette of hundreds of colours.
The colours may be brushed on greenware which is to be bisque fired before applying a covering glaze or on bisqueware, then a covering glaze applied. For opaque coverage by brushing, the consistency of the colour in the jar is correct.
Velvets have a wide firing range 1040°C - 1220°C, they are also Lead Free.
