Description

Stoneware matte glazes range from solid shades to those that create interesting color variations as they move and break. Application thickness is the key to making mattes work for you. We recommend firing our matte glazes to cone 6 to produce a satin matte finish.

1230°C (1st image): Satin Patina is a rich tonal matte green patina glaze. The variation of the glaze is dependent on application. The thicker the application the more opaque and homogenous the color will be, and thinner application will allow more of the clay body to show through the glaze. Satin Patina is a stable glaze.

1300°C (2nd image): Finish flattens. Color lightens. Brown/orange undertones come through.

Note: Not recommended for dinnerware due to surface durability.

Size: 473ml Brush on liquid glaze.

Health & Safety

Manufacturers Recommendations: Not Suitable for Dinnerware due to Surface Durability indicates the fired glaze surface may not be desirable to use a particular glaze for dinnerware even though it has passed the food safe testing process. Much of this is due to the fired glaze surface being impacted by contact with acidic food or liquids. Please note, dinnerware safety is not defined by cutlery scratches.
