Frost Blue Mayco Stoneware Glaze
Description
Stoneware matte glazes range from solid shades to those that create interesting color variations as they move and break. Application thickness is the key to making mattes work for you.
1230°C (1st image): Frost Blue is a mottled blue soft matte glaze that breaks a muted green/gray.
1300°C (2nd image): Semi-gloss finish with variegated blue/light blue. Can exhibit green hues.
Tip: Because of the chemical make up, this glaze can vary between a green and blue finish. It has a satin finish. If you like the results that Robins Egg (SW116) gives you, then you will enjoy this glaze because they are made up of similar things.
Size: 473ml Brush on liquid glaze.
Health & Safety
Manufacturers Recommendations: Dinnerware Safe indicates the fired glaze surface meets the FDA standards for food safe, the fired surface is free of surface texture that could potentially trap bacterial, and the fired surface is chemically durable. Please note, dinnerware safety is not defined by cutlery scratches. Finished ware producers bear responsibility for dinnerware safe testing their ware being sold into commerce.
We at Bath Potters will quote the manufacturers recommendations, but if you intend to make ceramic dinnerware with selling in mind, then you would be best advised to get your wares tested.
